Christine, a native of Utah,
has long loved photography, from her first point-and-shoot camera she inherited at the age of 16 to the high-
quality digital SLR she uses today. Growing up in Utah, she was surrounded by visually stunning places – from the red rocks of
Capitol Reef to the cool forests of the Wasatch and Uinta ranges. The beauty compelled her to record it on film. From this beginning,
her photography has evolved into images that focus more on color and pattern in abstract forms, though she also retains her original
literal inclination.
Her photography has been published on multiple book covers in recent
years, some selected and some commissioned by the publisher. Most
of her private commissioned work has centered around portrait work
for professional opera vocalists, and family portraits taken in casual
settings for a more natural and relaxed look.
In addition to pursuing photography, Christine holds a Master's Degree
in Human Resources from Michigan State University, and works at
a local bioengineering firm. She has also been a regular chorus
member of the Utah Opera since 1998, and has participated in volunteer
programs, including the Literacy Action Center of Salt Lake, and
Habitat for Humanity Costa Rica. (Her work includes photos created
in Costa Rica while volunteering for Habitat’s Global Village program.)
She encourages contributions to these organizations, as well as to
Heifer International and the American Cancer Society. |
